Phone Therapy and Online Therapy

We offer phone and video sessions for your convenience!

In today’s day and age, Online Therapy or Phone Therapy makes sense.  It’s the direction things seem to be heading and it makes sense as there are many benefits.  Some people are hesitant about teletherapy, which is understandable.  They wonder if the quality of interaction will be as good.  Many of my clients prefer online therapy or phone therapy once they have experienced it.

They find we are able to accomplish just as much and it provides them with the following kinds of benefits:

  • Less time in the car.

  • Sessions may be easier fit into a busy workday since drive time is cut out. Couples therapy may still be able to take place during lunch break while both people are at different locations.

  • No worries about spreading airborne diseases.

  • It’s often easy for people to open up in the comfort of their own home.  Teens or people with autism tend to feel more at ease interacting with people through a screen.  Some people feel more comfortable not being seen and choose phone therapy.

  • For clients with social anxiety/agoraphobia no anxiety about leaving your home.

  • No worries about bumping into someone you might know in the lobby.

  • People who are apprehensive about seeing each other in person can begin the reconciliation process by video.

  • Sometimes we provide homework and after a session without the need to drive home or get distracted, it can be beneficial to consider what took place in session while it is still “fresh.”

  • For some people this means no need for childcare.

  • Clients may have access to family members in the home they want to involve in treatment.

  • Some clients like phone therapy as they can get done their menial tasks such as weeding or making dinner while others like to fit in a walk or stretches while processing.

  • For clients with health problems, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, driving to an office for a session might take so much out of them that might be all they can get done that day.

We use HIPPA compliant platforms and will talk about what will happen if there is an interruption due to technology during a session. Whether online therapy, walk and talk, or when we get back to office, there is flexibility to try different things to see what works best for you at any given time!

We have experienced our own turmoil. We understand and care. You will not be a name in a slot. We will be there with you each step along the way.
